Since February 18, 2019 Rebecca (15) has disappeared from Berlin, She had spent the weekend with her older sister and brother-in-law. She should have gone to school on Monday morning. But she never got there.
Investigators assume that Rebecca is dead. However, a large-scale search did not lead to success. Now the responsible public prosecutor Martin Glage has interviewed the “Image” voiced on the case. “After the crime happened a year ago and extensive investigations had been carried out, we have no hope that Rebecca is still alive,” he says.

The young brother-in-law was suspected, but was released from custody because the suspicion could no longer be justified. It is not surprising that Rebecca was even at his house, says Glage. “It was more common for her to stay there.”
Nevertheless, the investigators assume that Rebecca died in the house – even if no concrete evidence of an act of violence was found. The last sign of life of the 15-year-old is a selfie that she sent to a friend in the morning. «It was so common that the friend sent back a photo of herself. But it could no longer be delivered. »

With Rebecca some things disappeared that are still missing today. Like a pink plush wool blanket that Rebecca used to use when she slept on the sofa. Garments and the cell phone of the missing can also not be found.
After the disappearance of Rebecca the police searched a piece of forest near Storkow and an area southeast of Berlin from. A surveillance system had caught the brother-in-law’s Renault Twingo on the freeway at a time when he was supposed to be asleep. The area is close to relatives of the 27-year-old. Detective dogs were also used – but there was nothing.
The brother-in-law later admitted that he had not slept but had gone to Poland for drug dealing. «Of course that made him extremely suspicious. In addition, it was simply the case that, after the investigation, he was the last one to be in the house with Rebecca – alone with her in the house, »says Glage about the« Bild ». The prosecutor cannot say whether there is a sexual motive. “We simply don’t know exactly what happened in this house.”
“At the moment we can do nothing more than process the information.”
Glage wants to solve the case in his remaining ten years of service. “That would be great. We’ll see if it works. » There are currently no hot traces. «If we get a hint that seems promising to us, we will certainly look for it again. But at the moment we cannot do more than work through these instructions, »says Glage. He hoped that witnesses or people who had observed something would still come forward.
So far, he has never seen a case in which an accused could have made a person disappear without a trace. «Either he’s particularly skillful, he’s incredibly lucky, or he’s not the culprit. But we don’t know all that exactly. We don’t currently assume the latter, but we can’t say anything else. »
