By defeating Canada last weekend, the team of captain Heinz Gnthardt won the right to participate in the final phase of the Fed Cup, from April 14 to 19 in Budapest.
Tuesday evening, the draw took place at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest and it was not very close with Switzerland. Belinda Bencic and her teammates will be opposed to the Czech Republic and Germany.
For memory 12 nations will participate in this competition which will take place for the first time in a week and in the same city. The four group winners will advance to the semi-finals.
The Czechs will once again be favorites in this competition, with three WTA top-20 players in their ranks: Karolina Pliskova (WTA 3), Petra Kvitova (WTA 11) and Marketa Vondrousova (WTA 17). On the German side, the very experienced Angelique Kerber (WTA 20), former world number 1, and Julia Goerges (WTA 31) will also have their say.
