The adult service provider Pornhub has around 120 million users worldwide every day. Thanks to Corona, there are now a few more: The porn portal reports an increase in the number of visitors. In Italy (13.8 percent) and Belgium (12.4 percent) in particular, people are currently watching more porn.
Pornhub assumes that the usual visiting times have changed because many users are now at home during the day. While the number of hits on a normal weekday at 2 p.m. has so far been rather poor, traffic on March 12, i.e. in the middle of the storm of the corona crisis, rose by 11 percent during this time. For this, fewer people want to watch porn at eight o’clock: If you don’t have to commute, you’ll get up later.
More visitors from Switzerland
The portal also senses the increase in Switzerland: on March 12, it recorded 5.2 percent more visitors from Switzerland. As in the other countries, our traffic in the morning drops (at 7 a.m. by almost 20 percent) and increases again around noon. Those who sleep late may prefer to spend longer in the evenings: at three in the morning, 20 percent more Swiss people were online than on an average day.
Interesting: Pornhub also reports that users search for “coronavirus” or “covid” on the site. These two terms have been searched 6.8 million times in the past 30 days, most often on March 5 (1.5 million).
