The Swiss airline will restart operations between Geneva and Zurich in July. Passengers departing from Geneva will again have access to intercontinental flights from Switzerland.

For the months of July and August, the schedule provides for a dozen weekly connections. In September and October, that number should be raised to 21, the white cross transporter said on Monday in a statement.

As previously announced, Swiss will gradually expand its offer until the fall. More specifically, it intends to serve a dozen new destinations in Europe in July. From Geneva, it will again operate 24 routes, including a large number of tourist destinations in southern Europe.

With regard to the long-haul network, Swiss will resume operations from Zurich to 13 destinations in July, and 18 from October. The airports again served include São Paulo, Shanghai, Montreal and Tel Aviv.

By the end of the summer flight plan, the Lufthansa subsidiary aims to cover 85% of the routes operated before the outbreak of the health crisis. However, the frequency is significantly lower: initially, Swiss movements from the two main Swiss airports should be limited to 1,400, 60% less than before the crisis.
