What do you think about the singing skills of the Swiss Nati?

The Swiss Nati players changed their profession briefly this week. If Xherdan Shaqiri, Granit Xhaka, Breel Embolo and Co. shine otherwise as ball artists, they now present themselves as singing artists for once – or they definitely try.
The entire national soccer team sings in a edited video “Imagine” by John Lennon and thus sets an example against the corona virus. The reactions of the fans were not long in coming.
All Nato players gave their full commitment to this song, and the users don’t want to deny that either. “You put a lot of emotions in there” or “Shaqiri feels it right” they write on social media, for example.
But the result sounds admittedly rather bad than right for some professionals. “Better stay with football” comment several users. “A bit of cancer in the ears” got one of this song. And some even think they have found an explanation for the Swiss nationalist hymn mystery: «Now it is clear why you never sing the hymn.»
Steffen: «We had to listen to sayings»
Renato Steffen takes it easy. “We know that we are not all the best singers,” says the ten-time international, who plays the line “living for today” in the song. But that is not so important either. Only the gesture counts.
«Yann Sommer took care of the whole thing. It was a Herculean task to determine who should sing which part of the song, »says the 28-year-old. But in the end something funny happened. «I think we wanted to achieve that a bit in this difficult time. But you had to listen to a few sayings in the chat group of the Nati, »he says with a laugh.
Despite the criticism of the singing arts, the feedback on the action of the Swiss national team is extremely positive overall. “You are awesome, a beautiful gesture in this difficult time, bravo” or “A recording for eternity … the Swiss national team has achieved something very special” or “Hammer appearance and for a good thing” can be read in the comment columns . One user even wrote: «I am a nurse and I am totally touched by your solidarity. Thank you very much!!!”
