20 martyrs and 14 wounded…the initial toll of Israel’s raid on Baalbek-Hermel

The Public Health Emergency Action Center at the Ministry of Public Health announced, in a statement, that Israeli airstrikes on the Baalbek-Hermel area caused a high number of martyrs and wounded. The statement included details of injuries and losses in different areas, as the town of Al-Kannah recorded the fall of eleven martyrs, while the Baalbek incident saw the fall of five martyrs and the wounding of six others. Regarding the town of Al-Jamaliyya, two martyrs and six wounded were recorded, while two more were killed in the town of Nabi Sheet, as well as two wounded in the town of Majdoun.

The statement concluded by emphasizing that rescue teams and medical ambulance teams will continue to provide the necessary care to people who are injured in the region, amid full alert of the health teams and all the medical teams despite the continuous increase in Lebanese towns.

On the other hand, the Public Health Emergency Action Center of the Ministry of Public Health released its daily report on the results and consequences of Israel’s aggression against Lebanon.

The report said that the air strikes launched by the enemy of Israel yesterday, Friday, November 8, 2024, killed 19 people and injured 91 others.

Therefore, the total number of martyrs from the start of the attack until yesterday reached 3,136 martyrs, as well as 13,979 wounded, while the impact of the attack on Lebanon continues.

Israeli warplanes attacked the town of Ain Baal in southern Lebanon, targeting a point of the Al-Resala Health Ambulance Association, stealing three paratroopers who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The National News Agency reported that the attack caused extensive damage to the area, while local and medical authorities are still dealing with the consequences of what happened.

Al-Mayadeen TV announced that the number of people who were victims of the Israeli raid on Tire yesterday had increased to 17.

According to the National News Agency, raids on Friday night targeted 3 buildings in the coastal city of Tyre, without prior warning from the Israeli army for residents to be evacuated.

The group noted that the raids “severely damaged the surrounding buildings and residential buildings.”

Agence France-Presse said the buildings targeted are old residential buildings in a densely populated area.

For its part, the Israeli army said, in a statement, that its planes attacked “Hezbollah command centers in a civilian area near the city of Tyre.”

The city of Tyre, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was previously subjected to violent Israeli strikes which caused widespread destruction in the center and resulted in a large number of casualties.

The coordinator of the government’s emergency committee, the Minister of the Environment, Dr. Nasser Yassin, released report No. 41 on the Israeli attacks on Lebanon and the current situation, which indicated that “Israeli attacks in the last 24 hours have seen 68 air strikes and bombs on different areas of Lebanon.
