JAYAPURA, KOMPAS.com – The attack of two TNI personnel by 20 unknown people (OTK) in Dekai District, Yahukimo District, was also accompanied by an action deprivation of firearms.
The SS2 firearms belonging to Prada Aryudi and Praka M Alif Nur, who were victims of the attack, were seized by the perpetrators.
The Papua Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D Fakhiri, ensured that the security forces were more alert to anticipate acts of violence in Yahukimo.
Moreover, now the unknown perpetrators have firearms.
“We will pursue the perpetrator who seized two firearms carried by our two soldiers,” said Fakhiri in Jayapura, Tuesday (18/5/2021).

The security apparatus, he said, would increase vigilance in the area after the weapons seizure incident.
“The level of vigilance must be increased because they already have firearms, a new group will emerge to protect what Kodap. So the confiscation of firearms justifies that he is there,” said Fakhiri.
Coordination with Kodam XVII / Cenderawasih
To pursue the perpetrators, Fakhiri immediately coordinated with the XVII / Cenderawasih Military Commander Maj. Gen. Ignatius Yogo Triyono.
The security forces will not be careless in pursuing the perpetrators. He did not want the personnel carrying out the chase off guard.
“This incident is quite fast at the end of Dekai Airport, quite far from the point of the city. With the incident there I have asked to be aware of it, so that all my friends (personnel) at a vulnerable point must be extra careful in carrying neat weapons because that is what they are looking for. this group, “said Fakhiri.

Previously, two TNI personnel died after being tortured by 20 unidentified people (OTK) in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua, Tuesday (18/5/2021).
The two victims, Prada Aryudi and Praka M Alif Nur died after suffering stab wounds to the head.
“Yes, it is true (two members were killed). We do not know for sure (who did it),” said Danrem 172 / PWY Brigadier General Izak Pangemanan, when contacted by telephone, Tuesday.
