2 out of 5 people who entered the 13-meter well to conduct ‘illegal excavation’ died in İzmir

The incident occurred around the Fortress of Hercules near the ancient city of Ephesus at around 20:00.

Allegedly, 5 people who came to the area to dig illegally to find treasure entered a well with a depth of about 13 meters with a generator. Nazım T. and Gürsel K., of the 5 people who operated the generator in the well, went out and went to the Selçuk State Hospital by their own means, getting worse due to carbon monoxide gas. After Nazım T. and Gürsel K. told that they had three more friends in the well, gendarmerie, fire brigade and AKS 110 teams were dispatched to the region. Reaching the region, as a result of their search and rescue work, the lifeless bodies of 2 people were reached and 1 person was saved. The lifeless body of two people who lost their lives was taken to the morgue after the examination at the scene, and the injured person was taken to the hospital and treated.

An investigation was initiated into the incident.
