NEW YORK – Two police officers and another person were run over in Manhattan Thursday night, according to police.
The accident occurred in the area of 40 W 225th Street around 7:10 pm, according to authorities.
Police sources familiar with the case told our sister chain NBC 4 that the two uniformed officers assigned to the Cuartel 50 public security team were chasing a suspected robbery on foot at the time of the incident. The vehicle hit all three of them, the source said.
The firefighters added that one of the victims was transported to the Jacobi hospital and the other two to San Barnaba. For their part, the New York City police said they were in stable condition.
