Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The construction of two toll roads on Trans Sumatra that had stalled is reportedly still underway. In fact, the completion of infrastructure development projects does not always run smoothly, especially from land acquisition problems.
The management of Hutama Karya (Persero) answered the continuation of the two Trans Sumatra Padang – Sic Cincin and Binjai – Langsa toll roads 1.
Padang – Sic Cincin Passing through Indigenous Lands
This toll road section was hampered because it had to pass through productive heirloom land, making the land acquisition process even more complicated. Even the company that was tasked with building this toll road, Hutama Karya (Persero), reportedly stopped its construction.
“Land acquisition is still a challenge in itself for the company, although the progress that is not so significant is not due to slow development but the company can only work on toll road construction according to the land that has been acquired,” said Operation Director III of PT Hutama Karya Koentjoro at the virtual media gathering event Ngabuburit ( 6/5/2021)
Hutama Karya also answered CNBC Indonesia’s questions in writing, the company is still working on toll road construction in accordance with the land that has been acquired.
“Currently, the progress of the construction of the Padang – Sic Cincin toll road has reached 40 percent,” said Hutama Karya’s EVP Corporate Secretary, Tjahjo Purnomo.
Previously, the company was also looking for alternative solutions to implement the project. Starting from the new location, relocation of tracts to coordinating with various parties in development.
“The process will follow the decisions set by the regulator,” he explained.
Binjai – Langsa 1
This toll road is also part of the Trans Sumatra toll road. The Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment said that this toll road is experiencing problems with land acquisition due to the large investment costs involved in its construction.
Marves Ferry Pasaribu, Assistant Deputy for Strategy and Policy for Acceleration of Investment at the Coordinating Ministry for Investment, Ferry Pasaribu, explained that the two toll roads needed acceleration from an investment perspective. Seeing that the funds that need to be spent for this project are very large, and the state is in limited condition.
“The construction of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road is a national strategic project with a very large allocation of funds. Referring to the state’s financial situation, we have to work hard so that everything goes according to target, there are many things that we have to refocus,” Ferry said in an official statement, Tuesday. As the BUJT for this toll road, Hutama Karya answered that the construction of this toll road is being accelerated, even the construction has reached 32%.
“In order to accelerate the construction of the Binjai Langsa 1 toll road project, the company is not only carrying out construction on 15 kilometers of cleared land, but also working on construction on land that has obtained permission from the land owner. The construction progress has reached 32%,” said Tjahjo. Purnomo.
