From today, Tuesday, retailers will have to monitor compliance with the 2G rule in stores. Retailers are required to request proof of vaccination or recovery from customers. In addition, an FFP2 mask must now also be worn outdoors if a distance of at least two meters cannot be maintained.
According to the ordinance approved by the main committee, the 2G proof must be checked in retail at the latest when the goods are paid for. The rule also applies in service companies. Since the fourth corona wave, only those who have been vaccinated or recovered (2G) have been allowed to shop in the non-food trade. Unvaccinated people are still locked down, they are only allowed to buy everyday products in supermarkets or drugstore chains.
Mask compulsory outdoors
As of Tuesday, the requirement to wear a mask outdoors will also come into force. An FFP2 mask must be worn in public places if a distance of two meters cannot be maintained. Exceptions are people from the same household or close relatives as well as situations in which the minimum distance is only briefly undershot – for example when walking past each other on the sidewalk.
