President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) again reminded about the importance of vaccination and health protocols. Jokowi said Indonesia could soon enter an endemic if these two important points continued to be improved.
“Because indeed the key to controlling COVID is vaccination and the second is health protocols. I think if we can increase these two things massively in society, God willing, our country will soon go from pandemic to endemic. We also hope that the national economy will recover as well. we can speed it up,” said Jokowi while reviewing virtual vaccinations as broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube account, Friday (18/2/2022).
Jokowi thank all parties involved in vaccination. According to Jokowi, the vaccination program does require the cooperation of all elements.
“Once again I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the Minister of Health, all ranks of the Ministry of Health, Mr. National Police and all ranks of the National Police, Commander of the TNI and all ranks of the TNI, Mr. Ka BIN and all ranks of Kabinda in the regions and all provincial and district governments. , cities that work hand in hand in the context of accelerating our vaccinations,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi Asks for Booster Vaccinations in the Market
On that occasion, Jokowi also asked for vaccinations booster carried out in places with high community interaction. Jokowi said vaccination could be held in markets to shops.
“Then for booster I entrust it to be injected in places of high interaction. Maybe in the market or in shops where the interaction between people is high,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi appreciates the already high rate of the first dose of vaccination in West Sumatra. But he asked for the second dose of vaccination to be intensified.
“I see the figure in West Sumatra for the first dose of 84 percent is good and the second dose is 52 percent. Please encourage the second dose to be closer to the first dose. So concentrate on the second dose,” said Jokowi.
