Trier. The final for second place is perfect: Both Heidelberg and the Eisbären Bremerhaven won their catch-up games in the 2nd basketball Bundesliga Pro A on Wednesday evening. For the main round on Saturday, these two teams will now face each other in Bremerhaven. And should coach Michael Mai’s team win this home game too, the runner-up from the previous season will go into the play-off phase starting on April 17th in second place.
In the 89:71 (37:42) success in Trier, the polar bears, who had to do without Moses Pölking in addition to the long-term injured Josh Braun (bone spur) in this away game, had a long hard time and initially ran behind a residue. It was only after the break that the strongest offensive team in the league found its rhythm and – driven by the strong Armani Moore, Marvin Heckel and Leon Friederici – came to an undisputed success, it was already the eighth in a row.
