2 Bakers Lost in the Flash Flood in Sukabumi

SUKABUMI, KOMPAS.com – The flash flood disaster occurred in Cicurug District, Regency Sukabumi, West Java, Monday (22/9/2020).

Daeng Sutisna, Coordinator of the Operational Control Center for the Regional Disaster Management Agency (Pusdalops BPBD) of Sukabumi Regency, said that two victims were missing when the flash flood occurred.

Until now, both victims are still in search and their fate is not yet known.

According to Sutisna, the two victims were bakers who were suspected of being swept away when the flash flood occurred in Sukabumi.

“The joint SAR team is still conducting searches and because it is already late, plus the lack of lighting, the SAR operation will continue on Tuesday,” Sutisna said to Among in Sukabumi, Monday.

Meanwhile, according to Sutisna, for the Cicurug District, the number of houses affected by the disaster is estimated to reach hundreds.

Until now, BPBD is still collecting data on victims and houses affected by flash floods in Cicurug, Sukabumi.
