2.44 crore which reached the account due to bank mistake has been spent; Two people have been arrested

Thrissur: Police have arrested two people for mistakenly spending Rs 2.44 crore in their accounts. Nidin and Manu, natives of Arimpur, were captured by the cyber police. The incident took place in one of the new generation banks in Thrissur, one of which had an account in this bank. Suddenly they noticed that two crore rupees reached their account and started spending the money in competition. They used the money by paying off debts and making money transactions in the stock market, etc. As the money gradually began to arrive again, some of the money was transferred to 54 accounts in 19 banks. Both made 171 cash transactions.

The incident came to light during an investigation into a complaint the bank filed for missing money. This bank and another bank were merging. In the meantime it was concluded that the money had arrived in the young man’s account. Most of the amount spent by them has been traced. But there are still thousands to receive. The charge on their behalf is that they spent undeserved money. Police said there are no further proceedings against them. Police said the bank could have been notified that more money had arrived in the account.
