The Agricultural Division of Bayer and the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEMex), announce the call for the 1st International Conference on Public-Private Academic Exchange in Mexico, which will take place from September 4 to 7, 2023 at the El Cerrillo University Campus, located in Cerrillo Piedras Blancas municipality of Toluca, State of Mexico.
The main objective of this conference is to generate a space for the exchange of ideas between postgraduate students from different study houses in the country related to agronomy and experts referring to areas related to extensive crops and crops of regional interest; ecophysiology, crop management, diagnosis, fertilization, plant genetic improvement and crop protection.
During the last 13 years, these activities have been carried out annually in different agricultural training and research institutions in Argentina. For the first time it will be held in Mexico, where graduate students from Mexico, Brazil and Argentina will have the opportunity to connect with initiatives of the Bayer Agricultural Division in the region and visit facilities of the International Center for Maize and Wheat Improvement (CIMMYT). ).
The event will be attended by researchers, teachers and technicians with whom they will be able to interact, generating great connectivity that will allow the debate of ideas, projects and methodologies in the scientific field. Those interested in participating must meet the following requirements:
- Being a student in the final phase of postgraduate programs or recent graduates of these programs.
- Present a state of progress of the thesis project with preliminary or final results.
- Submit a one-page summary of up to 300 words with the proposal to be presented at the conference.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is Monday, April 10, 2023, and the information must be sent to the organizing committee: [email protected], [email protected] y [email protected]. The participants in the event will be selected by a scientific committee made up of representatives of the academy and the private sector.
The participation of the selected students and tutors will include attendance at all the activities of the event, which include the sessions at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the UAEMex, and the displacement and visit to the CIMMYT facilities, as well as the possibility of visiting projects of the Agricultural Division in the Bajío region (Guanajuato and Querétaro).
