On Friday 9/2/2024, students of the Department of Economics – Administration of the 1st EPAL of Konitsa carried out a wonderful “journey” of information and knowledge in the context of educational/informative visits/practice/case studies in the field of Tourism, Economy and of Logistics.
The first stop was the International Airport “Vasilevs Pyrros” of Ioannina, where the students were welcomed and thoroughly informed by the airport master Mr. Mitsimaris Vassilios and Ms. Niki Pavlou, representative of the company Handling Skyserv, about the way the airport operates and the development prospects.
The second stop was the Region of Epirus and the Directorate of Tourism, where Ms. Iulia Markoula, Director of the respective department, and Mr. Ilias Gartzonikas, Vice-Regional Governor for Tourism, provided excellent hospitality and information about the Region’s contribution to the development of Tourism throughout Epirus , but also through their experience, regarding the ways of overall Promotion and Development of the Tourism product.
The third stop was the “Olympic” hotel unit of Mr. Stathis Sioutis, where he and his colleagues gave detailed information on the methods of promoting tourism, the prospects for the development of tourism and especially of hotel units, providing the opportunity for students to study case study of a successful family business in the respective industry.
Students and teachers warmly thank those who contributed to this constructive information and unique experience for the students, who will travel on February 14-26, 2024 to Barcelona – Valencia and other cities in Spain as part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ program on “Design, Development and Promotion of Alternative Forms of Tourism in the context of the Green Economy”, in order to get to know, study and acquire knowledge, experiences and skills, so that they will be the ones who will contribute in the future to the development of the Tourism product of the region. The 1st EPAL of Konitsa connects the school with the labor market and gives students the opportunity to acquire supplies, according to modern requirements and European standards.
