A tribute to Latin entertainers
Diana Vargas, director and co-founder of the festival, expressed: “In this endless universe of animation we find wonderful characters, whether because of their ingenuity, their personality, their physical form or even their stupidity, they are endearing to us. They become part of our imagination. We hope that the animated shorts made by Latinos that we present in this 19th CortoCircuito move our audiences with their risky and even impertinent visions of the world. These films show us what, perhaps, real images cannot. “Animation at the end of the day is magic that presents us with the reality of this chaotic world.”.
According to the statements of the festival’s co-founder, Latin entertainers who have a strong presence in international festivals and online platforms will be recognized. Likewise, filmmakers who have been competing independently or as part of large studios, creating stories for children and adults, in addition to winning at the most important festivals in the world.
In total there are 14 short films that will be competing in the 19th edition of this festival.
