19J.- PSOE bets on free early childhood education to guarantee universal access to nursery places

MÁLAGA, 8 (EUROPE PRESS)

The socialist candidate number 4 for Malaga to the Andalusian Parliament, Alicia Murillo, has expressed the commitment of the PSOE “with public and universal education from zero to three years”, since currently “if 63 percent of families can afford take their children to daycare, the remaining 27% have to choose between paying the mortgage and food or taking them to these early childhood education centers”.

Murillo explained that “for the PSOE, early childhood education is another stage in the training of boys and girls for the development of psychological and motor skills and not just the opportunity to reconcile work with family life.”

That is why, he said, “it is so important to guarantee universal access to free nursery places, a right that the Moreno government has borne in three years.”

This has been pointed out by Murillo after wondering “why the PP in the Junta de Andalucía rejected last November 123 million euros from the central government to create 12,000 nursery places in Andalusia.” “This money belongs to a national plan with which Pedro Sánchez intends to create 65,000 places for Early Childhood Education throughout the country,” he pointed out.

Murillo has criticized that “Moreno rejected this money because the improvement of public and quality education is not among his objectives. We are not surprised by this decision by a president who prefers to give Wi-Fi and television to health users, after allowing the dismissal of more than 8,000 professionals in Andalusia, 1,500 in the province of Malaga, without solving the long waiting list for surgical interventions and even to see your GP”.

Finally, the socialist also recalled that “just yesterday the Government of Pedro Sánchez sent Andalusia 23 million euros to combat school failure, in a community where socialists have always committed ourselves to public, free and universal education as we have demonstrated during our successive governments”.
