The 1935 Plymouth PJ sedan is a Great Depression car with a rich history that was used as a budget economy car.
PJ was taken to the Ammo NYC auto detailing studio for a full clean up and rebuild of the 87 year old engine with the help of the master mechanic. This car will be listed for sale later.
According to various sources, the sedan was the largest budget car on the market at the time, which consumed significantly less fuel than its competitors.
More than 350,000 Plymouth PJs were sold, and one of them ended up in a garage in 1983.
This 1935 Plymouth PJ hasn’t been local since. The author of the video estimates that the car has not been washed and cleaned longer than it has been stored, i.e. 43 years.
The classic pre-war Plymouth, of course, has a deplorable appearance. Its new owners want to restore it to working condition and then sell it to an appreciative buyer for a complete restoration.
To make this happen, Ammo NYC rolled up their sleeves and very carefully cleaned the rusty four-door inside and out.
However, it turns out that this is not a simple task at all. The interior has become home to other living creatures over the years, leading to the hideous condition of the upholstery.
Fortunately, the six-cylinder engine can be brought back to life under the guidance of an experienced mechanic.
