Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the 192 km toll road will be operated functionally, i.e. free of charge, during the 2023-2024 Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays. The toll roads include Japek 2 Selatan to Binjai Langsa Toll Road.
Basuki said, during 2023 the length of toll roads in the country will increase by 410 km. Of this number, 218 km are fully operational.
“Meanwhile, the remaining 192 km will be operational functionally in Christmas 2023-2024,” said Basuki, in a Working Meeting (Raker) with Commission V DPR RI and the Minister of PUPR RI, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday (21/11/2023).
Furthermore, he also detailed what toll roads will be operated functionally at this time. The first is the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) 2 South Toll Road, the Kutanegara-Sadang section.
Next, there is the Solo-Yogyakarta toll road, the Kartasura-Karanganom section, which is 13 km long. “Last Eid we only reached Pakis. But this Christmas we will be able to reach Karanganom for 13 km,” he added.
Meanwhile, in the Sumatra region itself, there are also several toll roads that are functional for Nataru. These sections include the Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat toll road, 71 km, the Bangkinang-Tanjung Alai toll road, 25 km, and the Kuala Bingai-Tanjungpura section of the Binjai Langsa toll road, 19 km.
Apart from that, in order to support the smooth flow of homecoming for Nataru 2023-2024, the PUPR Ministry is also widening the toll road or adding one section to the Cikampek-Palimanan Toll Road. Thus, this section will have three lanes to accommodate vehicles.
“We have also widened the Cikampek-Palimanan toll road in anticipation of Cisumdawu KM 71-85, we will be able to utilize it later during Christmas Day 10, 100% can be completed,” he concluded.
