In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,903 new infections with the corona virus were reported in Austria. There was also another Covid death on Tuesday.
According to figures from the Ministry of Health and the Interior, 1,903 people in Austria were newly infected with the corona virus within 24 hours (as of 9:30 a.m.). This value was below the average of the past seven days (2,112). One death was also reported in connection with Corona. The seven-day incidence was 164.6 cases per 100,000 population.

A corona death was reported in Austria on Tuesday
As of Tuesday, there were 34,594 active cases in Austria, down 1,343 from the day before. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,252,143 confirmed cases have already been recorded in Austria. 4,198,897 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic.

There has been one death since yesterday, with a seven-day average of 6.4 per day. 45 deaths have been registered in the past seven days. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 18,652 lives in Austria since it broke out. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 207.7 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died from or with Covid-19.

Further decline in corona hospital patients
There were 475 people in the hospital, eight fewer than the day before. 43 people were cared for in intensive care units. That number increased by five and has decreased by 14 patients in a week.

A total of 60,631 PCR and antigen rapid tests were registered in the past 24 hours. Of these, 49,444 were meaningful PCR tests.

65.3 percent of Austrians have valid vaccinations
1,788 vaccinations were carried out on Monday. According to the data from the e-vaccination card, a total of 6,828,419 people have already received at least one vaccination. 5,865,964 people and thus 65.3 percent have valid vaccination protection.

Vienna with the highest seven-day incidence
The province with the highest seven-day incidence was still Vienna with 253.5, followed by Lower Austria, Salzburg and Burgenland (199.5, 171.8 and 139.4 respectively). They are followed by Vorarlberg (138.4), Upper Austria (128.3), Tyrol (102.5), Styria (101.7) and Carinthia (101).
