19-Year-Old Paraplegic Sues Ministry of Health for Vaccine-related Disability

His lawyer has stressed that the young man was an active athlete until he received the vaccine

And 19-year-old resident of Écija (Seville) has filed a claim against the Ministry of Healthto which he asks almost one million euros for damages, considering that he became a paraplegic as a result of the Second dose of the covid-19 vaccine.

As explained by his lawyer, Fernando Osunaand it is included in the complaint filed, the young man uses different medical reports that would guarantee that the disability of 84 percent that is certified “in direct relation to the vaccine“, specifically with the second dose, which he received on September 23, 2021.

As indicated, after these doses he began to suffer “small sensory disturbances with weakness in both arms” to which he did not give importance, since the attributed to the side effects of the vaccinebut in December 2021 he began to have motor disorders in his legs and back pain that worsened “until completely unable to walk“.

On December 13, 2021, he went to the service of Emergencies of the High Resolution Hospital of Écijafrom where he was transferred to the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville, where he remained hospitalized until January 5, and “after the corresponding treatment and diagnostic study” he was transferred “from the Neurology ward to the Spinal Cord Injury Unit“, to remain admitted until August 26.

Two weeks earlier, on August 11, he was diagnosed with “Transverse myelitis in temporal relation to the second dose of covid vaccine”, while the discharge report indicated “incomplete spinal cord injury of sensory level C7 right/C6 leftand motor level C7 right and C8 left of medical cause in probable relation to inflammatory etiology”.

The young man left the hospital with a treatment of seven different drugs, and on December 11, 2022, he was recognized with a degree of disability of 84 percent per resolution of the Territorial Delegation of the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality.

The lawyer Fernando Osuna has highlighted that the young man was an active athlete until he received the vaccine, and in the claim he asks that it be taken into account that rehabilitation treatment to which you have to submit it is not covered by the Public Health Systemso, since September 2022 has spent more than 6,000 euros in scroll to Sevilla and pay therapies in a private center.
