A woman died in an accident in Bremen-Horn-Lehe. According to the police, a driver hit the 19-year-old.
According to initial police findings, the 19-year-old wanted to cross Universitätsallee at 7:50 a.m. at Bibliotheksstraße. A car driving towards the city center hit her for reasons that have not yet been clarified. The 19-year-old was thrown several meters through the air. First aid from passers-by and attempts at resuscitation by rescue workers were unsuccessful. The 83-year-old driver suffered a shock.
The central street in the direction of the university in Bremen-Horn-Lehe in the city center was closed for several hours. Because of the accident, bus traffic around the university was severely restricted. Bus lines 21, 22, 28 and 31 were affected. Tram line 6 also ran at times only to a limited extent.
