At least 19 people died on Sunday in a building fire in New York. Nine children were killed in this tragedy, according to the municipality, which deplores one of the worst fires in its history.
The new mayor of the city Eric Adams was on site this Sunday to observe the extent of the drama that unfolded this Sunday, January 9.
“This is going to be one of the worst fires in our history. We know we have 19 people dead along with several others in critical condition and over 63 people injured.“, said the mayor.

In images circulating on social networks, huge flames and thick black smoke escaped from a window of a multi-storey building. About 200 firefighters were mobilized on the spot in the middle of the day.
