The series “1899” will tell the story of a ship with immigrants sailing from Europe to New York in the title year. There are people from different countries and backgrounds.

The “1899” series will be shot on a virtual film set specially built for its needs, using LED screens of the “Volume” type. The use of virtual scenography and locations created on the basis of the game engine is to enable recording a large number of complex visual effects directly on the set.
The virtual plan was installed on the premises of Studio Babelsberg near Berlin. – We couldn’t have realized our vision of the show without working with Netflix. Building “Volume” was possible because Netflix got involved in this production at a very early stage, making “1899” a pioneering production, both in the context of Germany and the entire region. The infrastructure created for our series is an extremely modern innovation on the German film production market, which can bring huge creative benefits to filmmakers and other creators around the world – he assures.
