The holidaymakers will fly to a resort on the Greek island of Rhodes for an all-inclusive package tour of eight days. The resort is only staffed, there will be no other guests.
Stay at the resort
Travelers must be tested before and after the trip, must not leave the resort and must adhere to the applicable guidelines when on holiday. You must also be quarantined for ten days when you return home.
Work is still underway on a second trial trip, which will give the holidaymakers a little more freedom of movement.
Tests are paid
Vacationers can sign up from March 24 and will then fly to the sun on April 12. You have to pay for your trip yourself, but the travel organizations pay the costs for the quick tests.
There is, however, a small trick: if developments in the Netherlands or in Rhodes lead to major risks, it can be decided at any time to cancel or abort the trial trip on the advice of the RIVM.

The travel industry is happy with the step and says it has confidence in the trial. “The Dutch are eager to go on holiday abroad again and travel organizations in turn also to provide these trips”, says Frank van Oostdam of the ANVR trade association.
“But it must be safe and corona-proof. I have full confidence that this initiative will demonstrate that you can enjoy a carefree and safe holiday through your travel company.”

Travel warning
For the people who are not going on a trial trip, a sun holiday does not seem to be possible for the time being. The cabinet has issued a negative travel advice until May 15, Rutte also emphasized in the press conference on Tuesday evening:

But the cabinet is therefore making an exception for these trial journeys. The goal is to see how people can go on holiday as safely as possible in the future. An independent agency will investigate the trips and share the findings by the end of April. The cabinet hopes to be able to provide targeted travel advice during the summer holidays.
There will also be trial trips later for car, cruise, train and / or bus holidays.
