Towers rubble only discovered after 30 minutes
Now an eyewitness at the time, the doctor Emil Chynn (50), has published new photos that were taken in the first week after the tragedy. Chynn was out walking his dog when he saw the explosions. He immediately put on his inline skates and rushed to the crime scene to offer his help. “When I arrived, I was surrounded by rubble and smoke,” he says. Only after about half an hour did he discover the remains of the towers.
–
Over the next few days, Chynn, who previously worked in a hospital, volunteered as a local doctor. At the same time, he documented the extent of the devastating attack with his camera.

“The pure compassion”
He took the pictures with an analog camera, he says. “It took me a while after that to get them all developed. But when I got it back, I knew I had to share it. “
–
The photos would show “the sheer compassion that people have for strangers”. “Everyone looks back on events with horror at humanity instead of seeing a city come together. People risked their lives and helped people they didn’t even know, »said the man.

Al-Qaeda calls for new attacks
Al Qaeda head Aiman al-Zawahiri broadcast a video message on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks. In the, he called on his supporters around the world to attack the USA, Israel and their allies. al-Zawahiri demanded retaliation for their “crimes” against the Palestinians. “As they conspire against us and band together, we must hunt them everywhere (…) at a time and place of our choice.”
–
America only understands the language of violence, said the leader of the terror network. The US tried to negotiate with those who harmed them. In the 30-minute video, which is subtitled in English, al-Zawahiri praises the September 11 attacks as “blessed”. At the same time, he condemns the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel by US President Donald Trump.

The Egyptian Al-Zawahiri is the successor of Osama bin Laden, who was killed by US elite troops on May 2, 2011 in Pakistan. Like its predecessor, it lives underground. The al-Qaeda chief is said to be in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan. (man)
