The perpetrator of that stabbing has not been arrested so far, and that is why TV program Opsporing Verzocht showed surveillance images from the center of Hoevelaken showing the perpetrator tonight.
The victim was simply stabbed in early August. A boy pierced his liver with a knife and the victim was seriously injured. He survived only because he hadn’t drunk alcohol that night.
Quarrel young people
The night of the stabbing, a number of young people had a conflict. The young people would just ‘solve this with each other’. Her son became unintentionally involved in the fight and was stabbed, while earlier that evening he went out as a ‘young vital boy to have a nice evening with friends,’ says his mother.

Her son managed to run on pure adrenaline and his friends warned his parents. “There was a bell and a knock. I asked how serious it was. The panic that goes through you while waiting for the answer is indescribable. That is real panic.”
Her son was bad when she was informed of the stabbing. “He looked gray, was covered in blood and was vomiting. Later, in the hospital, he was trembling terribly. And the next day he had all kinds of tubes and he couldn’t get out of bed. That is really bad. . “
Belly cut open
His abdomen had to be opened urgently to stop the internal bleeding and to save as much of the liver as possible. He barely survived the stabbing and a large scar now runs from top to bottom across his stomach.

According to the police, the perpetrator – probably between the ages of 16 and 18 – deliberately stabbed deep in the stomach. “You could speak of attempted manslaughter.”
Impact
The stabbing has a huge impact on the family, says the mother. “My son would prefer to just pick up his life and pretend that nothing happened, but that is not possible. He is a strong, stable boy and he will be fine, but he will have to live with a huge scar on his stomach. “
Meanwhile, the mother no longer feels as safe as before. “I find it difficult. You have to let your children go out, while there are boys who are swinging with knives and who are not afraid to actually stab. I always found it safe in Hoevelaken. I have lost some safety. We are not afraid, but we do want the perpetrators to never be able to do this again. “
