A shocking case shakes Wolfsburg: An 18-year-old man has to answer in court because he is said to have tried to murder his best friend and his 13-year-old girlfriend. But what he is accused of exactly leaves speechless.
Wolfsburg: He is accused of a perfidious act
As the prosecution explained to the Braunschweig district court, the young man is said to have invited the couple and other friends to a party in their parents’ apartment in Wolfsburg.
But then a perfidious plan followed: According to the indictment, he assigned the other guests, some of whom he administered sleeping pills, and the couple to separate bedrooms. After that, the young adult is said to have tried to kill his 18-year-old friend and the 13-year-old with his father’s hunting knife. Both are said to have slept unsuspectingly.
The trial is scheduled for eight days
The trial against the accused, who has been in custody for months, began on Thursday (April 13). The public prosecutor assumes that the young man committed the crime in a state of reduced criminal responsibility. He is said to have mental problems. According to the court spokeswoman, the indictment was first read out on the first day of the trial.
The 18-year-old himself was silent in court. However, his defense attorney reported that the 18-year-old had spoken to an expert. He admitted to having caused the injuries. But the act was not planned.
On the other hand, those who spoke on the first day of the trial were the victims, reports the “Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung”. “When I woke up, there was blood everywhere,” recalls the 14-year-old. “I got confused and went into the living room. I saw my friend there. I didn’t hear anything, so I cried the whole time.”

The possible motive for the attempted double murder: The young man is said to have felt neglected by his best friend, whom he met in 2018, and also suffered from the separation from his own girlfriend. A total of eight process days are scheduled. According to this plan, the verdict could be pronounced on May 26th.
