18-year-old accused: First public trial for the night of the riot in Stuttgart – Panorama

The 18-year-old, on whom the eyes of numerous journalists and the attention of even the interior minister are now, is not the first accused after the nightly riot. In mid-October, a then 16-year-old from Stuttgart stood before the youth lay judge’s court. However, because of his young age, the trial took place in camera; the court also withheld details about the defendant and his actions.

The accusation against him: embezzlement, resistance against law enforcement officers – and possession of child pornography. Because when evaluating the 16-year-old’s cell phone, the police came across photos and videos. The verdict: one year youth imprisonment, suspended on probation.
