The officials Russia calling a “miracle” happened after a passenger plane makes emergency landing in a field in Siberia, and all 18 people on board, survived with only cuts and bruises.
Earlier, the An-28, operated by Siberian Light Aviation (SiLA), was reported missing. Governor Sergei Zhvachkin’s office said the passenger plane was flying from the city of Kedrovy to Tomsk when communication was lost.
As reported by the news agency AFP, Saturday (17/7/2021), the Ministry of Emergencies later announced that the plane had been found, apparently after a “hard landing”, and that survivors had been seen.
The aviation agency said the plane was found 155 kilometers (96 miles) from the runway at Tomsk.
Zhvachkin’s office announced that everyone on board, including the three crew members, was safe and that medics “recorded mostly bruises and abrasions”.
“We all believe in miracles. And thanks to the professionalism of the pilots, it came true: everyone is safe,” Zhvachkin said.
Photos circulating on social media showed the plane overturned and the nose of the plane crushed.
