“18 Gunpowder Warehouses on Fire in Pervomaiskas, Russia: Evacuation Underway”

“The fire threatens 18 adjacent warehouses that also store gunpowder,” said an unnamed source. The village of Pervomaiskas, where about 400 people live, is preparing for evacuation.

Later, information about the warehouse fire was also confirmed by the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. According to preliminary information, there are no victims.

The authorities have started the evacuation of the inhabitants of the village of Pervomaiska. People leave the village on buses and by private transport, Ivans Kartashov, head of Rezhevsk city district, wrote on his VKontakte page.

According to TASS, residents of Yekaterinburg complain of heavy smog, the smell of burning in the air.

The village of Pervomaiska, where the fire broke out at 20:27 according to the information provided by the Main Administration of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Sverdlovsk region, is located approximately 30 kilometers from Yekaterinburg.

The authorities have declared a state of emergency in the Rezhevsk district near Yekaterinburg.

The situation with fires in the Sverdlovsk region is considered critical. The region has asked for federal help to fight them, confirmed the head of the region Yevgenii Kuivashev.
