178,600 euros for cultural projects in Lower Franconia

With a good five million euros from the Bavarian Culture Fund, the Free State is supporting 120 art and culture projects and investment measures this year. This was announced by Art Minister Markus Blume (CSU), according to a press release from the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and Art in Munich. Last year it was 6.8 million euros across Bavaria.

According to the ministry, twelve projects in Lower Franconia will be funded this year with a total of 178,600 euros from the Bavarian Culture Fund. Last year there was almost one million euros for projects in Lower Franconia. The big difference is that last year alone the anniversary season “100 years of the Würzburg Mozart Festival” was funded with 800,000 euros. In the previous year, 2020, Lower Franconian projects were funded with almost 300,000 euros. According to the press release, the funding will be distributed “according to the application situation”.

With its 178,600 euros, Lower Franconia is second to last in terms of funding from the culture fund this year. Only Upper Franconia receives less (140,400 euros). Most went to Upper Bavaria (1,534,550 euros), followed by Swabia (1,099,100 euros), the Upper Palatinate (784,900 euros), Lower Bavaria (533,300 euros) and Central Franconia (522,500 euros). In addition, there are funds for the national studio support program for visual artists in the amount of 237,360 euros. Anna Stolz (Free Voters) from Arnstein (district Main-Spessart), State Secretary in the Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, also reported on the funding from the Bavarian Culture Fund in press releases.

According to the ministry, the highest funding from the culture fund in Lower Franconia, at 25,200 euros, goes to the “Other Dance Collective” in Würzburg for setting up a theater room with function rooms in the theater hall at the Würzburg Cathedral (formerly Theater tanzspeicher).

The city of Würzburg received 25,000 euros for the special exhibition “abundant million views. Hannah Höch” in the Museum Kulturspeicher.

“Der Blaue Eumel – Mobile Kunst” from Arnstein (district Main-Spessart), which is going on tour in five Lower Franconian districts with the project “Der Blaue Eumel – en route to you!”, also received 25,000 euros.

The Scherenburgfestspiele Main-Spessart gGmbH in Gemünden (district Main-Spessart) receives 22,400 euros for the stage equipment/technology for the open-air stage of the Scherenburgfestspiele.

19,400 euros go to “Chamber Music! Festival Würzburg Romes & Zahnlecker” for the “2nd Chamber Music! Festival Würzburg 1”

The city of Schweinfurt receives funding of 15,600 for the special exhibition “Ottmar Hörl” in the Kunsthalle Schweinfurt.

The “Catholic Academy Cathedral School” in Würzburg received funding of 12,600 euros for the project “Simple. human.being. Reden zur Zeit” from the fields of theater and music care.

The “Vocalensemble Würzburg” receives 9700 euros for the anniversary “25 years Vocalensemble Würzburg”.

“StimmVEREINigung” in Mainstockheim (district of Kitzingen) received EUR 8,300 for the children’s musical “Hänsel and Gretel 4.0”.

The city of Röttingen (district of Würzburg) receives funding of 6,300 euros for the new exhibition of the festival office of the Frankenfestspiele Röttingen.

The “Musikkapelle Poppenhausen” (district of Schweinfurt) receives a subsidy of 5300 euros for the creation of a rehearsal room in the Werntalhalle.

The district of Rhön-Grabfeld receives funding of 3800 euros for the special exhibition “how to fly” in the Wechterswinkel monastery.
