Onem has received 174 complaints of abuse of temporary unemployment, said Minister of Employment Nathalie Muylle on Tuesday.

Belgium is making massive use of temporary unemployment in the context of the coronavirus crisis. Onem has already received 1.36 million workers’ requests from 133,000 companies.
The Onem also monitors abuses which can lead to sanctions against companies. In some cases, fines can increase to 48,000 euros per worker. Workers can also be punished for abuse.
Onem receives daily complaints about the abuse of temporary unemployment. It has already received 174. Complaints have come from citizens, businesses or other organizations. All complaints are analyzed. The results are expected in the coming weeks.
