According to Opinet, the Korea National Oil Corporation’s oil price information system on the 17th, the average selling price of diesel fuel at gas stations nationwide in the second week of December (11 to 15) was 1797.2 won per liter, down 48.6 won from the previous week.
It’s been about 9 months since March 10 (1781.84 won) that the sale price of diesel dropped into the 1,700 won range. Diesel selling prices fell for the fourth consecutive week on a weekly basis. However, the price inversion phenomenon, where diesel is more expensive than petrol, continues.
Gasoline prices fell weekly for the fourteenth consecutive week. The average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide in the second week of December (11-15) was 1,568.9 won per liter, down 42.2 won from the previous week.
The average price of gasoline this week in Seoul, Korea’s most expensive region, was 1,656.1 won, down 43.5 won, and in Daegu, the lowest-priced region, it was 1,494.6 won, down 50.2 won.
International oil prices are showing a steady trend this week as the US Federal Reserve continues to raise interest rates and build inventories of US petroleum products.
Dubai’s average oil price this week was $75.4 a barrel, down $0.3 from the previous week. The average international price of gasoline increased by $0.8 to $83.2 a barrel and the international price of auto diesel increased by $4.0 to $112.9 a barrel.
