LINZ. People have collected 170 signatures for traffic calming on Weißdornweg. City councilor Eva Schobesberger received this at meetings on site.
The district around the Weißdornweg is growing steadily. This has also increased the volume of traffic. The construction of a further 120 apartments, including the underground car park, is currently planned, the entrance and exit of which will lead to Weißdornweg and would lead to a further increase in traffic. Residents of the housing estate in the Wegscheid district are therefore committed to relocating the entry and exit of a planned underground car park and converting Weißdornweg into a residential street. They have collected 170 signatures in the past few weeks and handed them over to them at a local inspection by City Councilor Eva Schobesberger (Greens). “I fully support the demands of the citizens. The location of the underground car park entrance would lead traffic through the entire housing estate. There is certainly a better solution. Regardless of the underground car park, traffic on the Weißdornweg needs to be calmed ”, Schobesberger is convinced. “Citizens’ concerns must be taken seriously in any case and must not be swept under the table. Here, the city in particular is called upon to approach the residents and seek dialogue. The aim must be to relieve traffic in the residential area, instead of implementing a solution that is at the expense of the quality of life of the Linzers living here, ”concludes Schobesberger.
