KRISTIANSAND: – Our calculations show that in total the electricity support for households in Agder will amount to approximately 170 million kroner for December, and on average it provides a support of just over 1200 kroner to each of our around 140,000 household customers, says Ole-Herman Cappelen, section manager online customer in Agder Energy Net.

It is the grid rental companies that have been given responsibility for following up the Government’s compensation scheme for high electricity prices, which for Agder means Agder Energi Nett.

The scheme, which was launched in December, means that electricity customers are reimbursed 55 percent of the costs over 70 øre per kWt before VAT. The amount is deducted from the monthly bill for grid rent.

Support of 73.62 øre / kWt

– Now the average area prices are clear, and for customers in Agder, this means a support of 73.62 øre / kWt with VAT for consumption in December. If the sum exceeds the monthly grid rent, the amount is paid to the customer’s bank account or deducted from the electricity bill, Cappelen continues and adds that this, roughly speaking, will apply to the vast majority of household customers.

If you have an electricity agreement with a supplier with an agreement on through invoicing, ie that you receive a total invoice from their electricity supplier, for both electricity and grid rent, the amount will be deducted from the electricity bill itself.

The same invoice will state what the power support is. Other electricity customers will be able to see the electricity support for their own home on the grid rental bill.

The scheme only applies to households, so holiday homes and business customers do not receive a reduction on the electricity bill.

The ceiling for compensation is 5000 kWt per month. Consumption above this is not compensated.

– But there are very few households that exceed the maximum limit, says Cappelen.

Maximum support of 3681 kroner

A household with a consumption of 1000 kWt in December will receive an electricity subsidy of NOK 736. If the consumption is 2000, the support is increased to NOK 1,472.

The maximum electricity support for a household in Agder in December will be NOK 3,681, which corresponds to a consumption of 5,000 kWt.

The power support scheme will last until March this year.
