17-year-old Turkish Taekwondo athlete Sıla Medine Kavurat dies in tragic traffic accident: Condolences from Minister Bak

Turkish Taekwondo Federation announced that 17-year-old national taekwondo athlete Sıla Medine Kavurat died as a result of a traffic accident last week.

In the statement made by the Federation, “Sıla Medine Kavurat, one of our national athletes from the Kocaeli region, passed away at the age of 17 after losing her battle for life after a traffic accident last week. May God have mercy on our athlete, we wish patience to his family, fans and community. Rest in peace.” It was said.

It was stated that Sıla Medine Kavurat’s body will be buried tomorrow afternoon after the funeral prayer to be performed at Kocaeli Derince Central Mosque.

CONDOLENCE FROM MINISTER BAK MESSAGE

Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak published a condolence message on the death of Sıla Medine Kavurat.

Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, in his condolence message, said: “I learned with deep sorrow that one of our national athletes from the Kocaeli region, Sıla Medine Kavurat, lost her battle for life in the hospital after a traffic accident last week. May God have mercy on our athlete who passed away at the age of 17, and I offer my condolences to her family, relatives and the taekwondo community.” he said.
