The Rotterdam police arrested a 17-year-old street pub on Saturday on suspicion of assaulting a camera crew from the PowNed broadcaster. The violent incident took place last Thursday at the Emmaus College in the Maasstad. The broadcaster reported there because of a teacher at that school who is in hiding after threats about an innocent cartoon in his classroom.
Grown-up street kids (allegedly also students) at the school did not want to be filmed by the PowNed camera crew. That is of course their right, but the aggression triumphed and one of the young people dealt a heavy blow to a cameraman from the broadcaster. Fortunately, that was it, because the aggressive boy then wanted to kick the cameraman (head). The cameraman tried to keep the boy away and was miraculously only slightly injured.
Because of all the disturbing reports in recent times (think for example of the decapitated teacher in France) about showing cartoons to (Islamic) students, the police in Rotterdam took the case very seriously. An investigation eventually led to the 17-year-old scandalous boy who was immediately arrested and interrogated by the police.
