17-year-old killed for online bullying near Paris

“Why?” – 17-year-old killed for online bullying near Paris

Another brutal crime among young people in a Paris suburb shook France: A 17-year-old was allegedly killed by a teenager with a knife. According to initial findings, the background is a dispute in social networks. The approximately 14-year-old suspect was caught by the police after a short escape. In the past few months there had been fatal clashes between young people around Paris.

The act took place on Friday afternoon in a high-rise estate in Ivry-sur-Seine – just a few kilometers from Paris. The 17-year-old Marjorie wanted to defend her sister from attacks on the Internet, reported French media. Marjorie wanted to mediate between the alleged perpetrator and her sister. However, the meeting between the two ended fatally, the 14-year-old stabbed with a knife. “The blade must have been eight inches long,” the newspaper “Le Parisien” quoted a witness.

The victim’s mother spoke upset in front of television cameras. It was not a drug dispute, she said in front of television cameras. She only wanted to save her sister – with words. She emphasizes: “My daughter was not a criminal, she was a hard-working student, she wanted to do her Abitur soon.” She saw her daughter lying on the floor and there was blood everywhere.

According to initial findings, there were arguments and bullying in connection with the victim’s sister on social networks. This was attacked on Snapchat, the media reported. Marjorie wanted to confront the boy. Marjorie’s mother also believes that the parents of young people who would abandon their children are responsible for such crimes. Again and again she asks: “Why?”

The victim and the alleged perpetrator came from the same neighborhood. The crime took place in the high-rise housing estate Pierre et Marie Curie in Ivry-sur-Seine. Like so many of these settlements around Paris, it was built in the 1960s to provide living space. Many of these quarters have now developed into hot spots.

In the past few months there had been repeated violent clashes between young people in the Parisian suburbs – and there were also fatalities. It wasn’t just inter-gang conflict, however. In March, a 14-year-old was ambushed by two teenagers, possibly out of jealousy. The girl was beaten and thrown into the Seine – investigators were only able to recover his body. (sda / dpa)

Cosmopolitan? We Swiss are eternal Nidwalden people

The debate on the framework agreement with the EU is completely absurd. It is not just about Europe, but about a general misery in our relationship with the outside world.

Nidwalden is often thought of when following the debate on the institutional agreement (InstA) with the European Union. What is meant is not today’s half-canton in central Switzerland, but Nidwalden in 1798. At that time, French troops marched into the country. They swept away the old Confederation.

Most of the “places” surrendered to their fate over time. They accepted the new Helvetic Republic and theirs through the French Revolution …
