17-Year-Old Boy Collapses After Using Poison Gas and Alcohol in Bulgarian Disco

A 17-year-old boy collapsed in a disco in Plovdiv after drinking alcohol. According to the father – the former football player Georgi Kakalov, his son also used paradise gas.

According to bTV, the police also confirmed that the minor used poison gas. The incident took place on Friday and Saturday night at the disco where a police operation was held last weekend.

The boy was in the nightclub with his friends. His mother filled out a declaration that she was letting him go to a disco with an adult companion. At 1 a.m. the boy collapsed.

His friends called 911, he was admitted to the hospital and was unconscious for several hours. The father requested that he be tested for alcohol and drugs. The alcohol sample showed 0.6 parts per million, no drugs were detected.

The owner of the discotheque told bTV that he was not informed and would investigate the case. A pre-trial proceeding has been initiated by the police.

“There are no reports that the boy used a balloon with paradise gas. Paradise gas is not sold inside. Probably the boy or his friends brought the balloon from outside,” says the owner of the disco, Dian Naydenov.

Paradise gas is prohibited for sale in closed premises, such as a discotheque. It is also prohibited for use by persons under 18 years of age.
