Part of the criminal environment

The boy was arrested around 2 pm and will now be questioned by the police. He is charged with murder and attempted murder.

More than 200 people have been questioned in connection with the murder, and the police are getting an increasingly clear picture of the process.

– We are naturally a little relieved to have come this far in such a short time, says regional police chief Klas Johansson at a press conference on Friday afternoon.

The 17-year-old is a resident of Biskopsgården and can be said to be part of the “conflict environment”, according to police lawyer Ulrika Åberg.

The police do not rule out more arrests in the next few days.

Police have previously said they believe the policeman was shot by mistake.

Stabbing another person on the tram

Now report Swedish Aftonbladet that the accused 17-year-old was convicted of attempted murder just over a year ago.

The incident is said to have taken place on a tram in Gothenburg. The now accused 17-year-old was 15 years old at the time, was actually on his way to school when he stabbed another man with a kitchen knife.

According to the verdict, the perpetrator must have been informed the day before that someone was looking for him. Who he did not know.

This must have been the reason why he chose to bring a kitchen knife when he left home the next day. When the perpetrator boarded the tram, he had met three other people, one of whom went to the same school as him. The perpetrator and the three others had ended up in a mouth-to-mouth fight, and the now 17-year-old boy explained that he was scared, and stabbed one of the three people in the neck.

After the incident, he had gone home and thrown the knife out of the balcony.

He was sentenced to one year probation in early 2020. He was also sentenced to threats after threatening a fellow student with a knife on another occasion.

Received help

Police throughout Sweden have contributed to the investigation.

– We have received fantastic support from the police throughout Sweden, and everyone will help us. We have received the help we have requested. We have also received great support from other authorities, says police chief Teodor Smedius.

Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfven said on Thursday that he is appalled after the murder, but that they continue the fight against organized crime.

– We will never give up in the fight against organized crime. I and the entire Swedish people are proud of our police people, said Löfven.
