Last weekend it became clear that some employees of the heart control department of HMC Westeinde had been tested positive, but it was still unclear how many people were involved.
Care in the HMC continues with extra precautions. Employees who have to provide care within 1.5 meters have been wearing mouth masks since Monday. Staff with mild complaints must stay at home and are tested before they can return to work.
The source of the infections is difficult to trace, according to the hospital. “That is why we focus on measures to further reduce the risk of contamination and to guarantee continuity of care and safety for patients and staff.”
