17 establishments provide high quality services

The Director General of the National Authority for Health Evaluation and Accreditation (INEAS), Chokri Hammouda, announced this Friday that the Authority recently published a list of 17 health establishments, including 11 front-line centers that provide high-quality services in line with international standards, based on the Authority’s assessment and the reference guide approved by the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua EEA).
In a statement to TAP, Chokri Hammouda specified that the 11 primary health care centers on the list are located in the coastal and inland regions. They are basic health centers, an intermediate center and a mother and child care center in addition to 6 other establishments (public hospitals and private clinics).
According to the official, accreditation is granted after a series of steps, the first being the evaluation of what is available in the first-line centers, the adoption of a methodology of development and continuous improvement, and compliance with recommendations to avoid risks, such as forgetting to wash hands between two patients or prescribing a prescription without ensuring the patient’s state of health.
The center’s commitment to providing the best health services to the patient from entry to exit is also taken into account, according to Hammouda.
In this context, he cited as examples the posting of indicative signs at the entrance and in interior corridors, such as doctors’ or specialists’ offices, the place of registration, and the respectful reception of the patient by informing him of the waiting time. “In addition, it is essential that the pharmacist reminds the patient how to take the medication and optimizes the available resources,” he added.
Chokri Hammouda also stressed that the evaluation takes into account the satisfaction of patients with the care provided, while taking into account the establishment’s efforts to improve its services.
It should be noted that the first frontline health center to obtain accreditation at the “gold” level is the “Stah Jabeur” center in the governorate of Monastir, on December 9, 2021.
