17/18 September: Mobilisation action for the collective bargaining round “Cash and valuables services” in Potsdam and Berlin / DGB Frittenmobil in Potsdam

With information events in front of the companies, the ver.di union is mobilizing on September 17 and 18 for the ongoing collective bargaining round for the nationwide collective agreement “cash and valuables services”. The first round of negotiations in the nationwide collective bargaining took place on September 5 and 6, 2024. In this round, the employers had put forward numerous counter-demands that would bring about a significant deterioration in working conditions. Among other things, working hours are to be made more flexible and regulations in the event of hospital absences are to be made worse. The employers did not submit an offer for the wage collective agreement. In view of the widely divergent demands, strikes cannot be ruled out in the course of the further collective bargaining round.

With the information events, ver.di wants to inform employees about the current status of negotiations and to check their willingness to take further action to enforce the collective bargaining demands. There will be refreshments at each event. The colleagues will be supported by the DGB Frittenmobil on September 17th.

Magdalene Waldeck, ver.di union secretary responsible for Berlin-Brandenburg: “Already in the first negotiation, there were massive attacks on the already borderline working conditions by the employers’ association BDGW. In addition, the employers want to restrict our right to strike and did not even bring an offer to the first round of negotiations. The employees are once again ready to find an answer to this and that is why we are organizing a nationwide test of strength on September 17th and 18th.”

The company WSN Sicherheit und Service GmbH, a subsidiary of Prosegur, is causing further escalation. While the other companies can hold information events on their premises, WSN is refusing access to ver.di. The event is therefore taking place in a nearby car park under the motto “Meatballs as cold as our employer’s conscience”.

Jessica Strümpel, works council chairwoman and ver.di collective bargaining ambassador at WSN Berlin: “The employers’ behavior is abysmal and an absolute provocation. We were forbidden to grill on the company premises and to provide information about the collective bargaining round. But we won’t let anyone forbid us from doing anything and will simply stand next to the WSN parking lot, hand out cold meatballs and start a conversation with our colleagues.”

Representatives of the press are cordially invited to attend the events. Interviews with employees can be arranged on site.

The events will take place at the following times and locations:
Prosegur, Verkehrshof 17, 14478 Potsdam – Tuesday, September 17th, 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (DGB Frittenmobil)
ZIEMANN CASHSERVICE GmbH, Marzahner Ch 227, 12681 Berlin – Wednesday, September 18th from 1 p.m. (barbecue)
WSN Sicherheit und Service GmbH, Cottbusser Pl. 26, 12627 Berlin – Wednesday, September 18th, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (cold meatballs from the car)
