“16,405 doses of influenza vaccines administered in Herrera region to combat flu and COVID-19”

To date, according to the Ministry of Health in the Herrera region, 16,405 doses of influenza vaccines have been placed.

The population that has been covered with vaccination against Influenza They are: children, older adults, people with chronic diseases and pregnant women.

According to information from Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) of the Ministry of Health, of this great total, 10,768 vaccines have been placed in Minsa facilities, and 5,637 by the Social Security Fund, in the seven districts of the province.

The vaccine to counteract the Influenza virus is available to the entire population, which is why a call is made to the public to go to the nearest facilities to receive this year’s dose.

Given the imminent arrival of the rains, the population is recommended to update their vaccination schedule, since more respiratory diseases occur at this time.

It was reported that doses of different vaccines are available in all health facilities.

On May 17, a new batch of 14,400 doses of bivalent vaccines arrived in the country, which will reinforce the National Continuous Vaccination Program for people over 12 years of age, reported the Ministry of Health (Minsa).

The national coordinator of the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), Itzel de Hewitt, indicated that this new batch of vaccines will be distributed to the different regions, which is pending to be applied to the population.

According to the latest PAI report, 8 million 891 thousand 909 doses have been applied against covid-19.
