16-year-old, two killed in crash on Long Island – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – A Long Island car crash killed a 16-year-old driver and her two passengers, a 17-year-old girl and an as-yet unidentified man, in Suffolk County, authorities said Thursday.

Suffolk County Police said Cem Gunes was behind the wheel of a Infinity G37 2009 who walked away from Nicolls Road, for Via Divisionin Holtsville and crashed in a wooded area around 9:45 pm Wednesday.

Gunes, of Holtsville, and his two passengers died at the scene. One of the latter was identified as Taylor Beltramini, 17, of Moriches. The third victim has not yet been identified.

He’s a man, the police know, and while his age is unclear, he will no doubt be a factor in the investigation.

In accordance with New York State law, no more than one passenger under the age of 21 is permitted to ride with a junior licensed driver, unless a parent, guardian, or driving instructor is present in the vehicle .

The vehicle was impounded for a security check. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call 631-854-8652.
