Friday’s shooting incident happened on a street corner. The child who was killed was a 16-year-old girl.
The two who were injured were a 16-year-old girl who was hit by a shot in the leg, and a 17-year-old boy who was hit in the ass. Both are expected to survive.
The police state that there are still some unresolved details in the case, but that the shooting seems to have started after two people made hand movements towards each other at an intersection. The children who were shot were walking on the sidewalk. Police have a video from a surveillance camera where the shooting is said to have started after the person who shot “made gestures to someone”.
During the press conference on Friday US time, the detainee was still at large.
