La Tri confirmed the starting eleven to face Uruguay and did so with a promise come true. Chelsea’s next reinforcement debuted in his country’s major league at just 16 years old after being a substitute last Thursday in Buenos Aires against Argentina.
One of the great promises of Ecuadorian football jumped from the start by decision of the Spanish Félix Sánchez. With experiences in the youth teams where he was even part of the Under 20 World Cup, the young man from Guayaquil had his senior debut in Quito with the national squad.
Kendry Páez has already played a dozen games with Independiente del Valle and even scored a goal against Mushuc Runa in February of this year. With an ascending and astronomical career, the 16-year-old boy became Chelsea’s reinforcement although he will not migrate to England until 2025 when he comes of age.
On a FIFA date where Spain arranged the debut of Lamine Yamal, another 16-year-old youngster who this year made his senior debut with Barcelona, now Ecuador did the same with its great jewel that started very strongly against Uruguay in the South American qualifiers.
